The general premise, is the main character Achitaka, develops a curse defending his village so he sets off on a quest, and becomes embroiled in an epic battle between humans, the forest gods, and the great forest spirit itself. All life hangs in the balance, and its generally very exciting.
I quite enjoyed watching this anime film. Unlike some anime films, it was fairly straightforward to watch and didn't manage to confuse me at any point. The plot and dialogue were quite good and satisfactory. If you like anime, you'll love Princess Mononoke.
